Timba Bass Lesson 6: 2-3 Tumbaos Example 5

Our final example of 2-3 Timba tumbaos, uses similar rhythms to Example 4 but implements other melodic ideas to create a very different sounding line. Once again, beat three is always accounted for on both 2 sides of the phrase and the three note melody from Example 1 is used over the D chord in bar 2. In addition, be sure to take note of the B diminished triad over the F chord in measure 3, substituting a Bm7b5 and creating a ii7b5-V7 progression in the second half of the bassline.
